Moyasu was cursed to burn forever without being consumed. She was offered respite under the ocean by the sea Kami but any part of her that extends above the waves bursts into flames! Like others with the blessing of the sea Kami, she has taken on some aspects of sea creatures. On the table Moyasu requires a delicate balance as she can be as dangerous to your own models as the enemy, much like fire used as a weapon at sea. Her ability to hold a model in place while giving out many fire markers makes for a very powerful effect, if you can position her well. This ‘lobstrosity’ has been Blessed by the Ocean and is known as the Killer Claw among his shipmates. With a form more suited to life at sea, specifically a pirate's life at sea, with his armoured frame, snapping claws and great strength, Renishi can hold a flank (Or a Deck) against all foes. Any who dare attack him are often left blooded and at the mercy of the sharks, the Jung's other fearsome sailors.Jung players can pretend to be Bear Clan for a while with access to Armour (4), but unlike their Minimoto foes, Renishi can also Regenerate his whopping ten boxes. Harder to kill than a whole warband of Kaizoku, Renishi also has excellent melee abilities, and his spines cause Bleed Markers offering another route to getting those Shark charges off. Ryujin is the Spirit of the Deep Ocean, one of the most powerful Kami in the Jwar Isles. It is rumoured that the very act of calling him forth caused the tsunami that devastated the region. All lesser water Kami are his to command and in some ways are part of him. The Sea Witches of the Jung have bound him to a form of a great water serpent and he has blessed them with his aid. Bushido’s biggest model does not disappoint on the table! With his Tsunami and Incoming Tide abilities, Ryujin affects the game without making an attack but he also has powerful melee and ranged abilities. Finally, he has the Believer ability for Miyakomo models making their Ki Feats considerably more efficient. Taiho would probably go unnoticed among the Jung were it not that he could carry and fire a Heavy Barrel Cannon without an entire crew to assist him. He may be slow to move and fire the fearsome weapon, but Taiho's devastating shots are more than worth the trouble, as the only other way to get such mighty firepower is from the deck of a ship. The Cannon is the most powerful ranged weapon in Bushido (so far!). Jung players will eagerly blast the various shots available to them at the enemy, wreaking havoc! And what a Ranged Attack it is! Combo combined with Ki Block and a +1 Strength is very frustrating, to say the least. They also have Ki Block in melee, and with Combo Attack, they can also put out very decent damage while interfering with an enemy model's Ki generation. The Void is the antithesis of those from the Temple of Ro-Kan, the direct opposite in every way, shape and form. If Ro-Kan is light, then the Void is its shadow; it is the night to their day, and the most obvious observation is the Yin to their Yang. Unlike the monks of the Ro-Kan, they have no Ki. None. Life and time generate Ki; the Void monks seek to destroy it. The Void aims to return everything to a glorious state of nothing, darkness, silence, and Void. What the Temple of Ro-Kan builds, the Void monks seek to eradicate. One of the unique mechanics we developed for this faction is the Void Rifts. These are “Special Terrain” that can be placed in several ways to allow teleporting around the table. But when these Rifts open, because they come from the Void, the earth cracks open and retreats, not wanting to be in contact with them, and in some cases, columns of rock rise from the ground and push the monks away from the sacred earth. It shows how the land reviles these abominations who give themselves to the Void. The most significant difference when taking The Void to the battlefield in Bushido is that they all have a zero for their maximum Ki stat. None of them can have any Ki tokens, ever. (A few ronin and Kami can be included with the Void monks, but none of the new models has ki themselves.) The Void box includes a Communal Card, like the Bakemono Horde card, with all the rules needed to play using their new resource mechanic. Rather than accumulating Ki, specific actions will add Void Counters to the communal card. As the counters accumulate, new abilities are unlocked for the warband, including Feats, Boosts, Teleporting, destruction of terrain and accelerating the Void Counter gains. The Hoshi family, while so entwined with the Minimoto as to be near indistinguishable, maintain their own Ashigaru and those living higher up the Iron Mountains are close to the Kami and Spirits of the mountains. The Hoshi have access to Minimoto blacksmiths and all the benefits this bestows upon their weapons and armour. The Ashigaru’s connection to the spiritual and the cold of the peaks can cause their enemies to freeze and slow while they wield their Yari to trip opponents before finishing them off. It is the aspiration of all the Hoshi’s Ashigaru to walk the mountain peaks unhampered. When they can do this and not be killed by the freezing temperatures, bears or Kami, the Ashigaru ascend to the extremes to guard the Hoshi Family, rarely descending again. Like most Miniomoto Ashigaru, these new troops from the Hoshi family offer good Armour, Defence from opposed Ki and extra benefits for holding a point alone, including Aware to prevent any surprises. Odamu is typical of the Hoshi family. Their ways are old, uncorrupted by what others deem new or modern. Visiting them is to journey back in time regarding speech, manners, food, and attire. Hoshi Odamu is no exception. He wears armour most newer samurai have never even seen! However, his close relationship and proximity to the Minimoto clan ensures his blades and garb are still the most exemplary in Jwar. Because he has the blessings of the Bear Mon, he is at home fighting alongside his Minimoto allies. He has, over some time, developed a deep and heartfelt affinity for the great bears that call this place home. He feels it almost spiritually, a meeting of minds when both bear and Odamu are near one another. He cannot speak their tongue but has connection enough to lead these ferocious beasts into battle. He likes the wilds and spending time with the bears, following them into areas so cold and remote that another person would perish in moments. Not so Odamu; Hoshi's blood warms his veins, and the Hoshi are famed for enduring extreme cold and foul weather.Finest Steel players will welcome this new samurai. Odamu is a challenging prospect on the field. Not only does he have a high number of Wound Boxes - as well as Armour 4 - but he punishes any would-be aggressors with Held, and often also Slow. But this is where it gets interesting: he also deals damage in return when wounded! With Armour (4) and the ubiquitous Just a Scratch card, this often deals more damage than Odamu takes!
