Though hailing from a noble house, Tatsuo always felt destined for the priesthood, and so she faithfully served her local Michi shrine, rising through the ranks with age. She felt she belonged there, happy in her work, hoping to remain there for the rest of her days. But all that changed when she saw a dragon…whether she was asleep and dreaming or it was real, Tatsuo does not know, but regardless she followed as fast as her feet allowed despite its mighty wings. Her journey, possibly real, possibly imagined, took her through parts of Jwar she never knew existed until, eventually, the dragon landed outside the Temple of the Heavenly Dragon. She immediately made the connection between the two and, bowing to the magnificent sentinel, swore her solemn service to it and those of the temple. That secretive sect welcomed her arrival revealing new mysteries to her. Over time she far exceeded her previous abilities and can now summon the greatest of Takashi Ancestors to aid the clan in its hour of need. We look forward to players finding many uses for Tatsuo, as she has massive potential. Idolise is a remarkable feat, but the Ancestral Guidance Ki Feat is sure to find uses, as its powerful effects can turn the course of a game. Only some mercenaries last long unless they have prodigious skills to offer. Atsunobu has excellent swordsmanship skills and is a veteran of many battles, fighting to the bitter end regardless of the enemy. The Shiho, shoring up an army lacking in experienced fighters, are hiring sellswords and ronin from beyond Jwar, paying them with purloined Takashi Silvermoons so fresh they are still dripping in blood. Atsunubo cares not about whence the coins come, be it Takashi, borrowed from the Silvermoon Trade Syndicate, or, as some of the rumours suggest, donated to the Shiho by the Syndicate to effect a change in the way of things…Atsunobu offers a Melee Pool of 3 combined with a feat for Reach. Abandoned by accident when the monks of the Temple of Rokan banished the last Savage Wave, one Oni-sho was left without guidance on what it means to be an actual being, let alone an Oni. He wandered the world aimlessly, looking for acceptance until he was captured and taken against his will to the Empire. Once there, he was displayed as an oddity and a warning; he was shackled, bound, and dragged from baying crowd to baying crowd surviving only what they threw at him. He was sold eventually to an unscrupulous warlord who forced him to fight in the notorious Jade Pits of the Tzentch Falls, where he met Shiho Hiroto. Eldest brother has always thought of this meeting as the hand of fate at work and not pure happenstance. Shiho Hiroto recalls it like this, “I met him on my travels. I was living by my sword carving out a reputation for myself as a Ronin. I would journey from one place to the next, to fight, kill, to do what I had to do before moving on. Then one winter I was up near the Tzentch Falls, in the Jade Pits, doing a bit of fighting for the crowds when they brought him out. He was a lot smaller then, almost like their version of a child, and I felt sorry for him. They’d beaten him senseless and tortured him near death. They almost destroyed him. So I broke his chains, slew anyone that got in our way then robbed the counting-house on the way out. We’ve been together ever since.” Eldest Brother can deploy with Hiroto, using Flank. Flank gets him to the action unscathed, but how good is he when he gets there? With three melee dice and Brutal, he seems to be on par with other Oni and Oni-sho but his Kata trait (From a time when he joined the Temple, a story told elsewhere) makes him highly reliable in combat. He can also be used as a Savage Wave faction model due to the duality of his nature that constantly fights for control of who he is. Between Regenerate and Consume Soul, it’s easy to keep him topped up on wound boxes so that he’ll keep swinging that club.

The element of Metal encompasses not only the substance itself, but the fact that metallurgy and blacksmithing is needed to refine metal from simple ores. Metal is also the element of cogs and gears and represents advancement and technology. The Kami often take shapes of finished products of the smiths' art rather than amorphous masses of the element because of this, even when appearing to a Monk of Ro-Kan, the Kami will be a finished katana or system of gears. The temple has another supporting Kami, its ability to aid in melee is certainly useful for them, aiding in bypassing enemy defences, at which they have struggled. The Kami is also a good combatant in its own right, and with four Ki it can engage a few times before being removed.
