Though hailing from a noble house, Tatsuo always felt destined for the priesthood, and so she faithfully served her local Michi shrine, rising through the ranks with age. She felt she belonged there, happy in her work, hoping to remain there for the rest of her days. But all that changed when she saw a dragon…whether she was asleep and dreaming or it was real, Tatsuo does not know, but regardless she followed as fast as her feet allowed despite its mighty wings. Her journey, possibly real, possibly imagined, took her through parts of Jwar she never knew existed until, eventually, the dragon landed outside the Temple of the Heavenly Dragon. She immediately made the connection between the two and, bowing to the magnificent sentinel, swore her solemn service to it and those of the temple. That secretive sect welcomed her arrival revealing new mysteries to her. Over time she far exceeded her previous abilities and can now summon the greatest of Takashi Ancestors to aid the clan in its hour of need. We look forward to players finding many uses for Tatsuo, as she has massive potential. “Say nothing, hear everything” is a motto often ascribed to the Satou clan, otherwise known as the Hare clan. Throughout the Empire and the isles, the hare is often seen as a ‘trickster’ creature, full of mischief and surprise, and the Satou are no different from the animal they chose as a visual representation. The Satou clan are staunch allies of the Takashi clan and have been since they set foot in Jwar. While they are similar in martial prowess to the Takashi, there is one area of warfare where they succeed better than most, and that is in creating unusual weapons and tactics. Satou Togai is merely another warrior chosen to test their latest creation in the fiery crucible of battle. The practice varies, with it sometimes being undertaken voluntarily - to help prospective heirs learn the customs of other clans as part of their education. It can also be involuntarily, with the "ward" actually being a "hostage" for his or her clan's good behaviour or until a ransom is paid. Sometimes, as part of marriage alliances, one of the betrothed is taken as a ward so he or she can get to know his or her future spouse. The defenders of the Golden Dragon Shrine are some of the finest warriors in the Jwar Isles. Each one not just a capable Samurai but a devout Michi practitioner. The nature of the Shrine and the things it protects are not known, even to the Daimyo of the Dragon Clan but the guardians would each give their lives to protect it.
